About BarcoBatch

Why we built it

A shop may need one product label; a warehouse may need images for hundreds of existing SKUs. These jobs should not require an account, a barcode font, a macro or sending the source spreadsheet to a generation service. BarcoBatch puts the working tool first and returns files you can use: PNG, SVG, XLSX, ZIP or PDF, depending on the tool.

How tools are checked

Automated tests cover input rules, exact source preservation, malformed workbooks, layout measurements and export failures. Production builds are checked for routes, language links and security headers. Browser checks use Chromium, Firefox and WebKit at mobile and desktop sizes, including real downloads and independent decoding of selected generated symbols.

Software checks are not printer certification. Paper, print scale, stock, camera and receiving software still matter. Test the final file at its intended size and scan a physical sample before a large run.

Technical accuracy and editorial decisions

Guides separate identifier assignment from image generation, and link to primary standards or official platform documentation for technical claims. An image does not establish GTIN ownership or retailer acceptance. Barcode values are not silently trimmed, padded, changed in case or given a replacement check digit.

Development and localization use AI assistance as well as code, source and output checks. Translated content must preserve technical meaning; automated checks do not replace native-language or physical-device review. Report a specific error so the affected tool or guide can be corrected.

Browser processing and its boundaries

Barcode values, QR content, spreadsheets, label fields and exports are processed on your device. There is no application backend or cloud payload store. Saved downloads remain on your device. Hosting still receives the technical requests needed to deliver the site.

Creating a QR code does not host its destination. Opening a decoded link, visiting a source or sending email contacts that outside service. Review the Privacy and Cookie policies for storage and hosting details.

Ownership, maintenance and corrections

OwnBatch develops and maintains BarcoBatch, including the tools, guides and site updates. The public project link and contact address below are the route for product, content, privacy and security reports. Include the page URL, browser and a nonsensitive example; do not email private workbooks, Wi-Fi passwords or customer data.

Background and reason for building the project: While managing label printing at a business, I had to edit product barcodes one by one. I developed BarcoBatch to make generating barcodes and labels in bulk from Excel free and fast for everyone. OwnBatch remains the project identity and maintenance contact.

Google AdSense advertising may fund this site. A paid label module may be considered later, without a promised date or paid service. Existing tools remain free, and the editorial and verification approach above continues to apply.
