Begin with a contract the importer understands
Download template before preparing the job. Its required columns define what the tool can reliably interpret; a visually similar stock export is not automatically interchangeable. Keep product codes as strings and put information in the intended columns. There is no arbitrary field-mapping step to guess the meaning of every supplier workbook. A small test file containing a short name, a long name and the longest identifier is more informative than beginning with hundreds of nearly identical rows.
Three stages from workbook to finished artwork
Choose the completed file in Excel file and set the physical dimensions under Label settings. Select the code type and Barcode format, then press Generate sample designs. Choose a design and inspect Workbook preflight for the whole set, not only the attractive first preview. Finally use Download PDF or Download PNG ZIP when the run is valid. The fixed dimensions and selected design are shared across rows; the text and code content come from the template records.
Make the difficult row the acceptance sample
A compact label that fits a short product name may fail when a later row contains a longer description. Resolve reported layout problems before export instead of assuming a smaller font will always be acceptable. Leave space around the barcode, and keep a printed price or product description out of that area. A TL amount beside the symbol is presentation text, not an instruction to update the encoded identifier or the price stored by a checkout system.
Keep batch boundaries visible
The importer is limited to 10 MiB and 1,000 data rows. Workbooks and label contents are processed in the browser; the selected file is not a server-side print order. Keep your original template and a dated copy of the checked output so another operator can identify which batch was approved. A label PDF still needs actual-size printing and a test against the real stock. Use Print Studio for a dedicated A4 grid or repeated thermal design when that is the more appropriate task.
- Can every row use a different layout?
- This workflow selects one validated design for the workbook. It changes row content within that design, which keeps a batch consistent and makes difficult rows visible in preflight.
- Why must I use the supplied template?
- It provides a known field structure. Reusing an unrelated inventory workbook can make names, codes and optional text ambiguous and is not the supported input contract.
- What is inside the PNG ZIP?
- It contains exported label images for the accepted run, rather than a live spreadsheet connection. Verify the files before sending them to another person or print workflow.
- Does a passed preflight guarantee a physical scan?
- It checks the designed output under the tool’s rules. Printer mechanics, label material, darkness, application scaling and the receiving scanner still require a real printed sample.
