Start with restrained artwork and a short payload
Upload a PNG, JPEG or WebP logo using the provided file control. Choose a simple mark whose identity survives a small central placement; detailed lettering and wide wordmarks can become illegible. The renderer starts the logo width near fifteen percent of the module grid and protects functional patterns; there is no adjustable logo-percentage slider. Treat the proportion visible in the preview as a starting point for testing, not permission to enlarge the logo afterwards in an image editor.
Understand what correction level H can and cannot do
The logo renderer uses error-correction level H to provide additional recovery capacity. DENSO describes H as recovering approximately thirty percent of codewords under suitable damage conditions; this is not a promise that any thirty percent of the picture can be covered. The position and shape of an obstruction matter. Keep finder patterns, timing structures and the outer quiet area clear, and do not add another decorative panel over the downloaded symbol.
Keep foreground and background comfortably distinct
A dark foreground against a plain light background is a practical starting point for a brand palette. Very similar colors, transparent placement over photography and reflective print finishes can defeat otherwise valid geometry. Check contrast in the real design rather than judging the isolated logo. If a soft module style performs worse on the intended stock, return to square modules and compare both prints under ordinary indoor lighting.
Use a print comparison before committing the artwork
For example, prepare a product insert with the same URL in a plain version and a logo version at the same size. Scan both from several realistic angles with more than one phone. If only the plain version succeeds, reduce visual complexity or use the plain option. Export SVG for a vector layout or PNG for a raster workflow, then test again after placement; document software can resize or resample an otherwise sharp image.
- Is there a universally safe logo percentage?
- No single percentage guarantees readability across payloads, module counts, printing processes and cameras. Keep the central mark modest, avoid manual enlargement and validate the exported artwork at the size and finish you will actually use.
- Does H guarantee a damaged code will scan?
- No. Recovery capacity is finite and depends on which information is lost. A logo can already consume part of that capacity, leaving less margin for blur, dirt, glare or poor reproduction.
- Why does my brand color fail on packaging?
- The printed color and surface may offer less contrast than the screen suggests. Examine a physical sample, remove patterned backgrounds and compare against a dark-on-light version before changing other settings.
- Can I upload an SVG logo here?
- The file input accepts PNG, JPEG and WebP. Prepare an appropriate raster logo for upload; downloading the generated QR as SVG is a separate export feature and does not change the accepted upload formats.
